Nanticoke Powwow: Weekend of Stories and Dancing
Summary:
Thousands of spectators gathered under the trees at a natural amphitheater on a beautiful weekend to see dancing and hear storytelling during the 27th annual
Nanticoke Indian Powwow.
The crowd was entertained by storyteller Raggatha Rain Calentine of Selbyville, who said she has been telling stories all her life.
"Stories are a way of life for me," said Ms. Calentine. "They teach and can also be used for discipline. It is better to tell a story than to shake a finger at someone."
Subjects Covered:
diversity training, education, storytelling festivals
