Words & Stories Pushes the Storytelling Envelope at the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival

Skipressworld - (McMasterville, Quebec, Canada) , March 21, 2005

Words & Stories, a favourite with festival-goers for the last two years, has unveiled a diverse list of presenters to entertain us with tales of mountain life. From hip-hop flavoured rhyming to stream-of-consciousness prose, from skin-tingling adventures to more contemplative tales, Words & Stories will showcase a broad range of 21st century troubadours.

It's as simple as it gets. No fancy backdrops. No power points or videos. It's all about one person standing on stage with one story. And it's all about celebrating how that person guides us through common themes life, death, beauty, danger, love and respect while entertaining us with tales from mountain life. And it's a heck of a combination. For the power of nature is at its most revealing in the high country: deadly one moment and life-affirming the next. Maybe that's why mountain stories are so compelling.
