Tellers of Tall Tales Celebrate Anniversary

Hampstead and Highgate Express (London, England) , June 10, 2005

A CAMDEN group famed for helping to reignite the ancient tradition of storytelling is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Camden Ceilidh will hold a party on Saturday at its base in the Torriano Community Centre, Torriano Avenue, Kentish Town.

Founder Jenny Pearson, 68, set up the organisation in 1989 at her home in Kentish Town. "Over the years we have had many of the most famous storytellers, not just from Ireland and Scotland, but also from elsewhere. Recently, we had someone from the Caribbean who also appeared at the Barbican. Camden Ceilidh has been very much a part of the revival in storytelling."
