Summary:
The newly launched Asean Stories Project has set out to record stories from the region, but so far on their
website there's only one Singapore myth - that of Sang Nila Utama seeing a lion on the island and naming it Singapura.
Ms Persis Wong, 22, the main co-ordinator of the initiative, said: "Through the generations, our legends and stories could have been buried. It's time to revive them."
Another storytelling initiative is the
Great Singapore Stories, a day dedicated to celebrating stories and storytelling to the entire nation.
