Summary:
Crafting stories to reach one of the most challenging audiences was the focus of a Saturday workshop called "Telling to Teens," with professional storyteller
Michael McCarty.
It was one of three "Classes with the Masters" offered the day before the
27th Annual Fox Valley Folk Music and Storytelling Festival, held annually the Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend.
Even with many years of experience, McCarty finds teens to be "probably one of the hardest audiences. They're trying to be adults and rejecting everything they consider childlike."
Subjects Covered:
education, storytelling festivals
